About Honduras

Honduras is a small Central American country nestled between Guatemala, El Salvador, and Nicaragua, bordered by the Caribbean Sea to the north and the Pacific Ocean to the south. It is a land of incredible beauty—filled with majestic mountains, lush national parks, stunning beaches, and breathtaking waterfalls.

Yet beyond this natural beauty lies a very different reality. Honduras is home to approximately 10 million people, many of whom struggle daily with poverty and limited access to basic necessities. While the country is rich in natural resources, countless families lack opportunities for education, healthcare, and stable income.

The mountainous interior and remote coastal regions, though beautiful, often make it difficult for communities to access essential services. Children in these areas are especially vulnerable, facing challenges that no child should have to endure.

But there is hope. With the support of compassionate partners like you, lives can be transformed. Together, we can provide education, nourishment, and opportunity—helping children and families build a future filled with promise instead of hardship.

Your generosity can make a lasting difference in Honduras.

Jalaca

Nestled within the mountains of Honduras lies Jalaca, a colorful valley community surrounded by rolling hills, pine trees, and gently flowing creeks. It is a place of quiet beauty and simplicity, where life moves at a slower pace and the land sustains the people who call it home. Jalaca is home to approximately 800 residents living in just 75 modest homes. Most families depend on farming and cattle ranching for their livelihood, working hard each day to provide for their loved ones. Despite their resilience, resources are limited, and daily life can be challenging.

This small community serves as a vital hub for five surrounding villages—Ocotal, La Cuesta, Jalaca Abajo, Los Pastos, and La Chorrera—providing access to basic health services and education for the region. For many, Jalaca represents their only connection to these essential opportunities. By investing in Jalaca, you are not only helping one village—you are impacting an entire network of communities. Your support can strengthen education, improve healthcare access, and bring hope to families who are working hard but need a helping hand to build a brighter future.

Our Campus

New Life Children’s Home sits on 29 acres of beautiful, life-giving land—carefully developed to nurture, educate, and provide for the children in our care. This vibrant campus is more than just a place to live; it is a place where lives are restored and futures are built.

The property includes farmland, pastures, and fish ponds that help sustain the community, while also teaching valuable skills and responsibility to the children. Throughout the campus are thoughtfully designed facilities, including separate homes for boys and girls, a large auditorium for gatherings and worship, a fully equipped kitchen, and dedicated school buildings for elementary and advanced education.

Additional structures such as a carpenter and storage shop, mission home, and housing all work together to create a safe, stable, and nurturing environment. Every building serves a purpose—supporting not only the daily needs of the children, but also their growth, education, and sense of belonging.

This campus stands as a beacon of hope in Jalaca, made possible through the generosity of those who believe every child deserves a safe home and a bright future.

Teams

Mission teams have played an essential role in the growth and success of New Life Ministries over the years. Their willingness to serve has helped shape not only the campus, but also the lives of the children and families we reach.

There are many meaningful ways for teams to get involved. Whether through construction projects that expand and improve our facilities, assisting in classrooms, or helping lead activities with the children, every effort makes a tangible difference. Teams also have opportunities to participate in feeding programs and medical brigades, meeting both the physical and spiritual needs of the surrounding communities.

Even the simplest moments—playing with the children, offering encouragement, or sharing a meal—leave a lasting impact. These experiences not only bless those we serve, but also deeply transform the hearts of those who come.

We invite you to be a part of what God is doing at New Life—your time, talents, and compassion can help change lives forever.

Mission House

The Mission House serves as the primary lodging for teams who come to serve alongside New Life Ministries. These visiting teams are an invaluable part of our mission, helping us move forward with important construction projects, outreaches, and daily needs across the campus. Just as importantly, they bring encouragement, love, and a sense of healthy family life to our children and staff.

The Mission House is designed to provide a comfortable and welcoming stay for our guests. It includes two dorm-style rooms, each accommodating up to six people, with private bathrooms and hot water. There is also a shared living room and kitchen area where meals are prepared and fellowship takes place. Additional spaces include storage rooms and a living area for the directors, as well as access to washer and dryer facilities for team convenience.

We are grateful for every team that comes to serve, as their presence leaves a lasting impact both on the work being done and on the hearts of those they encounter.
