Farming God’s Way
One strong desire of our founder, Jim Lamont, was to care for the land without the use of chemicals on the soil.
In honor of that vision, we have been working diligently to develop organic farming methods at New Life Children’s Home.
This approach, known as Farming God’s Way, focuses on restoring and stewarding the land through natural practices such as heavy composting, minimal mechanical disturbance, and the use of ground covers to protect and enrich the soil.
We are continuing to learn and develop these methods step by step, trusting God as we grow in both sustainability and stewardship of the land He has entrusted to us.
Traditional farming in Honduras is intense tractor discing, and heavy chemical fertilizer, herbicides and pesticides.
We are working at training in compost making to improve the soil instead of chemical fertilizers and sprays.
Drip irrigation coming from the free water we stream off the mountain 24/7.
Hammer Mill to render the corn more effective for the cattle.
We have three Tilapia fishponds to raise protein for the children and youth.
