Our Founders

Jim and Georgia Lamont

In 1995, the Lamonts arrived in Honduras after retiring from a successful business career, answering a deeper calling to establish New Life. Over the years, they faithfully transformed nearly 30 acres of beautiful farmland—nestled in pine-covered mountains—into a thriving place of refuge and growth. They built homes, launched a school, and provided loving care for 35 children who needed hope and stability.

At the age of 81, Jim Lamont entrusted this mission to their daughter and son-in-law, ensuring that the work would continue and the vision would carry on for generations to come.

Our Current Directors

In 2011, the Thiesens moved to Honduras from Peru, stepping into the responsibility to carry forward the work of New Life Children’s Home. They did not simply take on leadership—they embraced a calling to continue loving and serving vulnerable children who needed a safe place to belong. Under their care, 16 more children were welcomed into the home, each one with a story of need, and each one now given the chance to heal, grow, and experience stability.

Under their guidance, the school was strengthened and grounded even more deeply in a Christ-centered curriculum, shaping not only education but character and faith. From there, the mission continued to grow, opening new doors of opportunity through college support and external scholarships for children from five low-income villages nearby—reaching families who once had little hope for a future, and now see possibility where there was once only struggle.
