Farming God’s Way
One strong desire of our founder, Jim Lamont, was that we not use chemicals on the soil. We have been working hard to develop an organic method of growing our crops at New Life Children’s Home.
It is known as Farming God’s Way: composting heavily, growing without mechanical input, ground covers and more. We will develop this more as we go.
Traditional farming in Honduras is intense tractor discing, and heavy chemical fertilizer, herbicides and pesticides.
We are working at training in compost making to improve the soil instead of chemical fertilizers and sprays.
Drip irrigation coming from the free water we stream off the mountain 24/7.
Hammer Mill to render the corn more effective for the cattle.
We have three Tilapia fishponds to raise protein for the children and youth.
