Violent organized crime continues to disrupt Honduran society and push many people to leave the country. The groups most likely to be internally misplaced are children subjected to forced gang recruitment… only half of children under 18 years old attended school, according to the National Statistics Unit. Child recruitment by gangs has caused many children to flee and abandon school.
